Fresh from breaking Galway's hearts in the Division 2 League Final, Diarmuid Murtagh will be gunning for the Tribesmen yet again in the Connacht Championship decider in a few weeks' time. In an end-to-end final, a moment of magic from Murtagh swung the game in Roscommon’s favour. Can the St. Faithleachs man repeat the trick again on the 29th of May? We’ll just have to wait and see! What are your first memories of your club St. Faithleachs?
Playing tournaments within my own club and at other clubs.
Who were your sporting idols growing up?
Growing up my sporting idols were Wayne Rooney and Ronan O’Gara.
What has been the proudest moment of your playing career?
Winning the Connacht intermediate title with my club was really special.
Toughest opponent you have faced?
Michael Fitzsimons.
Best Player you have played with?
I was lucky to play with Ciarán Kilkenny when I was in college.
Any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
Not really no.
What are your hopes and ambitions for the remainder of the season?
The ultimate goal is to achieve as much success as possible as a team, with my club and county.
