Club Sponsorship In Your Club App
Your Members Open It Every Week.
Local Businesses Know That.
ClubSpot club apps carry up to 25 sponsor slots, and every one of them belongs to the club. There are no third-party ads, so the space is yours to sell to local businesses. Clubs use it to look after existing sponsors, sell the calendar month by month, or hand the whole app to one title sponsor.

Your club probably has five sponsors. It could have more.
Not because there are only five businesses in the parish willing to back the club. There are more than that, and most of them are asked every year.
The problem is you have nothing left to sell them. The jersey is gone. The back of the jersey is gone. The two hoardings behind the goal went years ago and the fella who has them is not giving them up.
So the same five businesses get asked for a bit more each season, and everyone else gets nothing to say yes to.

On the two screens members actually open
Sponsor banners appear on the news landing page and the events page, which are the two screens a member lands on most. Every time someone checks whether training is on, or looks up the date of the county semi-final, they are on a page carrying a sponsor.
A hoarding behind the goal gets seen by whoever turns up on the day. When a local business asks what they are getting, "in front of every member of the club, every time they check the news" is a far better answer than a sign on a fence.
Banners are clickable, so a member who spots something can go straight to the sponsor's website.

Fewer Sponsors, More Exposure Each
Every active sponsor gets an equal share of display time, and the order is randomised so nobody ends up permanently at the bottom.
That has a useful consequence when you are pricing. Twenty-five active sponsors means each one gets a twenty-fifth of the exposure. Five active sponsors means each gets a fifth. One means they get the lot.
So filling all 25 slots is not automatically the best move. Five businesses paying properly can be worth more than 25 paying very little, and it is a better deal for each of them. That is the real reason selling the calendar works: rotate month to month, keep the number of active sponsors low, and every business gets a decent share when their turn comes round.
Three Ways Clubs Use The Space
Most clubs land on one of these. You can change your mind between seasons.
Model | How it works | Each sponsor's share | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
Look after the sponsors you have | Your existing jersey and hoarding sponsors get a slot as part of what they already pay | Split between however many you have | Clubs protecting long-standing relationships |
Sell the calendar | A handful of sponsors active at a time, rotated month by month | High while they are on | Clubs with more interested businesses than space |
One title sponsor | A single business takes exclusive sponsorship of the app and covers the cost of the platform | All of it | Clubs with one significant local backer |
Sell the calendar
Twenty-five slots across twelve months is a lot of inventory. Clubs sell it in blocks, a month or a quarter at a time, switching sponsors on and off from the dashboard as each block comes round.
The businesses who never got near the jersey now have something they can afford, and because only a few are active at once, each one gets a real share of the exposure rather than a twenty-fifth of it.
It also gives you a reason to go back to the same businesses next season rather than asking for a favour.

One title sponsor
One business, exclusive sponsorship of the club app, and the cost of the platform covered.
With a single active sponsor there is nobody to share display time with, so that business is on every news page and every events page a member opens. Sole presence in front of the entire membership, which is not something most clubs have ever been able to offer a sponsor.
For some clubs this is the whole conversation. The club gets its platform paid for, and the annual argument at the committee meeting about whether the app is worth the money goes away entirely.
The Sponsor Is Your Sponsor
We do not sell the space, we do not choose who goes in it, and we do not come between the club and the business.
You decide who gets a slot, how long they get it for, what they get, and what you charge them. Those are your relationships with businesses in your own parish, built up over years, and they stay that way.
Already In Your ClubSpot Package
Sponsorship is not an add-on and there is no separate subscription. If your club is on ClubSpot, the slots are in your admin dashboard now. Add your sponsors, set how long each one runs, and they are live.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many sponsors can we have in our club app?
Up to 25. Every slot belongs to the club, and you decide who goes in them.
Where do sponsor banners appear in the app?
On the news landing page and the events page, the two screens members open most often. Banners are clickable and link straight to the sponsor's own website.
How is display time shared between sponsors?
Equally. Every active sponsor gets the same share, and the order is randomised so nobody is stuck at the bottom. That means the fewer sponsors you have active at once, the more exposure each one gets.
What do sponsors actually get for their money?
Their branding in front of every member of the club, on the screens those members open to check news and fixtures. Unlike a hoarding or a programme page, it is seen week-round rather than only on match days, and a member who spots something can tap straight through to the sponsor's website.
What size do sponsor banners need to be?
320 by 100 pixels, supplied as a PNG or JPEG. Worth asking the business for artwork at that size when you agree the deal, so there is no delay getting them live.
Are there third-party adverts in the ClubSpot app?
No, at any plan level. Your members only ever see your club's content and your club's sponsors. Ad-free is not something you pay extra for here, because we do not sell advertising into club apps at all.
Can one business sponsor the whole app?
Yes. Some clubs sell exclusive title sponsorship of the app to a single business, and the sponsorship covers the cost of the platform. With no other sponsors active, that business has sole presence on every news and events page a member opens.
What should we charge a sponsor for a slot in the app?
It depends on the size of your membership, how many sponsors you plan to run at once, and what a business already pays for a jersey or a hoarding in your area. Most clubs price an app slot against their existing sponsorship rates, then adjust once they see how many members are opening it.
Do we have to find the sponsors ourselves?
Yes. These are your club's relationships with businesses in your own area, and you will always be better placed to have that conversation than we are.
Can we change sponsors during the season?
Yes. Sponsors are added and switched on or off from your admin dashboard, so you can rotate them month by month or leave them in place all year.
