Building the Future of Fundraising with Tipperary GAA

At ClubSpot, our mission has always been to empower volunteer-led sports organisations with the tools they need to thrive. Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Tipperary GAA to deliver digital solutions that support both the county board and the clubs on the ground.

Our partnership began with the development of a dedicated Tipperary GAA app, designed to connect supporters, clubs, and the county in one easy-to-use platform. The app has grown steadily, now boasting 11,000 active users, and has played a vital role in building out Tipperary’s fundraising database, which today totals 30,000 contacts across the Clubs Draw, 50/50, and app registrations. This growth gives Tipperary GAA valuable insight into their audience while strengthening engagement at every level.

This was quickly followed by the launch of the 50/50 fundraiser, which has proven to be a resounding success. Since launch, the draw has gathered a total of €80,000+ in sales, with over €40,000+ given back in prize money. On average, the 50/50 continues to generate around €1,800 profit each week, providing a sustainable and consistent revenue stream. Auto-renew has also been the difference maker, in the week of September 1st alone, €2,900 worth of entries were processed automatically, highlighting just how powerful this feature is in driving recurring income for the county.

But perhaps the most significant milestone in our partnership came with the modernisation of the Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw.

For the past 37 years, the draw has been a cornerstone of fundraising in the county, raising over €80 million in total, with €40 million returned directly to clubs, €30 million awarded in prizes, and the remainder reinvested in facilities and teams. This year, the 2025–2026 draw underwent a major revamp as we worked hand-in-hand with Tipperary GAA to move from the previous system to a state-of-the-art online platform.

The new system gives every club its own portal, putting them in full control of members, payments, and revenue tracking. For club coordinators, this means no more handling cash or manual record keeping, saving time and reducing errors. Clubs can now easily track ticket sales, monitor sales in real time, and manage members with just a few clicks. For supporters, signing up is simpler than ever purchasing a ticket takes less than 90 seconds, and they receive an instant digital receipt, making the process fast, transparent, and completely paperless.

The results speak for themselves. Despite the challenges of moving away from an old process, the new online draw not only retained membership levels, it actually grew, with almost 500 additional members.

We were thrilled to receive such a resounding testimonial from Jonathan Cullen at Tipperary GAA, a great reflection of the partnership and hard work from both teams:

“Since commencing our journey with the ClubSpot team, we have enjoyed a great relationship with each and every member of the team who have gone above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions to ensure that everyone concerned is well looked after and any queries or issues were dealt with in a speedy and professional manner.

As a county we can already see the huge benefits that our partnership with ClubSpot has brought and the revolutionary effect it has had on both our communications and fundraising channels.

In terms of the Tipperary Clubs Draw which is now a fully online system, not only did the transition run smoothly, but the membership of the draw actually increased by 500 members in the first month of the new draw scheme. This I believe is a testament to the top class draw system built by ClubSpot, and I am now really looking forward to watching the draw flourish and grow over the coming years.

I am also looking forward to building on the great relationship that is now in place between Tipperary GAA and ClubSpot as we look to future endeavours and exciting new projects that will benefit Tipperary GAA, our clubs and supporters.”

— Jonathan Cullen, Fundraising Manager, Tipperary GAA

These achievements are a credit to the vision and leadership of Tipperary GAA and its fundraising team. At ClubSpot, we’re proud to provide the digital infrastructure that helps make this possible, and we look forward to building on this success together in the years ahead.

Finally, I want to thank our talented team at ClubSpot for the incredible work they’ve done over the past year in bringing this vision to life. I’d also like to extend sincere thanks to the clubs of Tipperary for their hard work and support throughout this journey, their commitment has been vital in making the transition such a success. And of course, a special thank you to everyone at Tipperary GAA, especially Jonathan and Eleanor, for their continued trust and collaboration.
